The following information is very important for your study in China. Please read carefully.The details are as follows:

I.Visa Application

Applying for a student visa is the first step for you to come to study in China. Please apply to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-general for your student visa application. Taking the original documents and photocopies with you including the Admission Letter, Visa Application for Study in China, and your valid passport. You can apply for an X2 visa if you plan to study in China for less than 6 months. An X1 visa is required if you plan to study in China for over 6 months.

(Note: an X1 visa has to be changed to the residence permit within 30 days upon your entry to China.）

II. Registration Time

Please come to register according to the dates below. If you are unable to register on time, please inform us in advance.

Registration Date:March 1, 2016 – March 2, 2016

Date for Placement Test:March 3, 2016 (Except beginners)

Class:March 7,2016 - June 24,2016 (16 weeks)

Final Examination:June 27,2016 — June 30,2016

To get the score report:July 1,2016

IV. Documents for Registration

1. Letter of Admission

2. Visa Application for Study in China Form

3. Valid passport

4. 4 colored passport-size photos with white background.

V. Expenses

Please pay tuition and accommodation fees upon registration with RMB. Besides, please prepare 2000—3000 RMB beforehand for paying the incidental expenses including bedclothes, dormitory deposit, physical examination, textbooks, insurance and Residence Permit application fee, etc.

Note：For scholarship students, the fee is based on the notice in the official admission letter; For exchange students, the fee is based on the agreement between Universities.

VI. Accommodation Registration at Local Police Station

Accommodation on campus: International Students Building (#15), Hainan University. No. 58, Renmin Avenue, Haikou, Hainan Province, P.R. CHINA

All international students must register with a valid passport within 24 hours uponentry to China. If you live in the campus dormitory, please show the dormitory manager your Letter of Admission, get the key and the accommodation letter. After that, go to Renmin Road police station to register with your passport and accommodation letter. If you live outside the campus, please register at the community police station with your passport and other required documents (Please consult the local police station for details).

VII. Physical Examination

Students holding an X1 visa who plan to apply for a residence permit should take a physical examination in the International Travel Hygiene Centre of Hainan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. If the result is medically unfit, your admission qualifications will be canceled. (Address: Jintan Road, Xixiu Beach, Binhai Avenue, Haikou City. Tel: 86-898-68651113.)

Note: Even if you have had the physical examination in your own country or in other cities of China, you have to re-take the physical examination according to the visa regulations of Hainan Exit and Entry Department.

VIII. How to get to Hainan University

1.By Bus: No.21 or No. 41 from Meilan Airport to the East Gate of Hainan

University. It costs about 6 yuan/RMB

2.By Taxi: about 60 yuan/RMB (no more than 100 yuan/RMB)
