1. Q: How can I apply for studying in Hainan University?

 A: Welcome to apply for Hainan University! You can apply online. Applicants should log in the Online Application System https://hainanu.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx, fill in certain information, and upload required documents according to the program they are applying for. If you have any questions or problems about application, please contact us by email. Our email address is admission@hainanu.edu.cn.

     

2. Q: Is there any limitations of age for studying in Hainan University?

A: Yes. Applicants should be over 18, under 45 years old for Degree Programs, under 60 years old for Language Programs. The applicants under 18 years old must submit the provincial guarding certificates in Hainan. The applicants over 45 years old must submit personal resumes filled with accurate specific words and in chorological order.

3. Q: Can I apply for degree program in spring semester?

 A: The degree program starts in every fall semester (the beginning of September).

4. Q: The passport can be changed after application?

 A: If the expiry date of the holder’s passport remains less than 1 year, the passport shall be changed before application.

5. Q: How long does it take for admission procedures?

 A: On receiving the application and required materials, we will soon verify them. After the materials qualified, we will submit Visa application form for Study in China (JW202) to the authorities concerned. After the success of application, we will send the admission package enclosing the Electronical Letter of Admission and the original JW202 to successful applicants. It takes about one month to process JW202. Admitted students should bring their passport, Letter of Admission, Visa Application Form (JW202/JW201), and original Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in their country to apply for Student (X1 or X2) visa.

6. Q: Do I need to do physical examination again in China if I have done it in my home country?

  A: Yes. International Students are required to apply for the residence permit after they do physical examination in local city, if the result is not up to the standard, your admission qualification will be cancelled.

7. Q: How can I deal with visa problems?

  A: The University helps the international students with application for the visa.  Please watch for your visa expiry date and apply for visa one month in advance.   

8. Q: How long is it for language study one semester? How do you arrange your curriculum every day?

 A: Each semester lasts about 4.5 months (16 weeks for teaching). And you will have a rest in weekends and holidays.

For spring semester, it usually begins from the end of February or the beginning of March, and finishes in the end of June or the beginning of July. For autumn semester, it usually begins from the end of August and finishes at the end of December.

Generally speaking, the students for Language Program will have lessons every morning from 7:40 to 11:25 during the working days, selective courses in the afternoon.

9. Q: Is there any scholarship I can apply for?

  A: Hainan University has Chinese Government Scholarship, Hainan Provincial Government International Students Scholarships and Overseas Chinese Teachers Scholarship, etc. With regard to specific information about applications and admissions, please visit the Hainan University website for International Students’ Admission & Scholarships Program. Prospective students and scholars from foreign countries are welcome to apply for those three kinds of scholarships to study at Hainan University.

10.Q: For scholarship application, should I pay any Application Fee?
A: If you are applying for scholarship at Hainan University, you do not need to pay the Application Fee.

11.Q: Can I apply for the Pre-admission Letter of Hainan University in order to apply for scholarship?
A: Only those applicants who apply for Chinese Government Scholarship - Bilateral Program will need and be issued this Letter from Hainan University. Applicants for Chinese University Program should not apply for this Letter, or the application would be regarded as for Bilateral Program.  

12.Q: Should I mail the Hard Copy of my application documents to Hainan University?
A: No need.
